When in leisure mode, I love to sit on the porch, reading the funnies or doing a crossword puzzle, eating bagels with gobs of butter while slurping from a steamy mug of black coffee, no sugar, no cream.
And you can bet your gosh-darn rear end that if I'm in the right region I'll munch down a savage amount of potato, egg, and chorizo breakfast tacos, especially if it's hooked up with cilantro and the right tomatillo.
But on the reg, anyone who knows me will tell you, for breakfast I will be found with a bowl full of peanut butter and dates - although in times of great prosperity I splurge on the almond butter and during periods of fiscal inabundance I downgrade to raisins. Sometimes, to this savory combo I will add honey, pumpkin seeds, and banana or apple slices.
It's like a little Sundae for a squirrel or chipmunk.
With ice-cold Kombucha to wash it down you simply cannot go wrong!
I don't know about peanut butter and dates, maybe I'll try it someday.
Breakfast burritos are delicious, but if i don't have proper ingredients a peanut butter and banana sandwich is delicious in the morning, along with some form of caffeine, coffee if I have the time, but if I have to rush to work or something I might just have a caffeine pill and orange juice.
You should try a cup of Iced Coffee from Zot'z in New Orleans. I take a few sips then I have to sit the cup down. My heart explodes and I have to rebuild it. Good thing I have all the coffee to help me focus!
I try to start my day with a big mixed salad. Gets the veggies out of the way early, and it doesn't leave me feeling satisfied, so I still have a hunger to go out and do stuff with my day.
If I had more energy when I woke up, I'd love to make a big breakfast. I usually end up having a simple bowl of cereal or pancakes/waffles. I've gotta start expending more energy to cook in the morning.
