Like the title suggests, post up any hidden messages you find in MC songs. I know at least a few of their songs have them. What do you think is said at the end of "The Devlin Manor of Speech"?

I've noticed many over time. I only wish that I had written them down the moment I realized it. Here is a list of some interesting things I've noticed about MC, lyrical and otherwise (To be updated as I remember more)

- At the end of the interlude on Tomb Diggin' Shovels the lyrics are "6-26-85 my first impression." June 26th 1985 is MC Devlins birthday, Renegade Space Rock and MC rises were both released on June 26th.

- On the piece of art that has MC's rude boy and Venom, it is noticeable that both the rude boy and Venom are making the letters "MC" with their entire body's.

- Mad Conductor's 'MC' logo, sideways, can be interpreted as a dancing/skanking man.

- The first lyrics of the song "All Things Considered" are taken from the Taj Mahal song "Fishin' Blues".

- A line in "Members Only" is a Kurt Vonnegut quote (though I'm sure that most of you already knew that one.)

- As it is sung in the song, "I am T double E double R double E double F triple I triple C." Which obviously correlates into: I am TeerreeffiiCCC. However it is possible this line from "Venom" is a reference to the drug Coricidin Cough and Cold (abreviated to CCC or Triple C). Coincidentally, The Mad Conductor's music mixes quite well with this drug according to my own and other's testimonies.

- The letters M and C in the 'logo' for "The Devlin Manor of Speech" are taken from the MC logo. Also, the P in the 'logo' is the P representing the Philadelphia Phillies. MC Devlin would have been a fan of them due to his hometown's (Nazareth) proximity to Philadelphia.

As I said before, I'll update the list as necessary. Peace.

So many! One of the many reasons I love MC.
There's TMNT references in All Things Considered (The foot clan seeks to kick the coping off my vert ramp, I'll stick 'em with the 7-ply splinter, shred ya MCs and I'll eat 'em for dinner.), Delirium Aquarium (You see 20% of me is mutant reptile, raised by a rodent in the sewer with the bile), Yo, Kid! (I'm in the same frame as Oroku Saki), and Starry Safari (No katana, sai, nunchuck, or staff)

"Who ever thought that Cletus could defeat us?" Is referring to Cletus Kassady, owner of the Carnage symbiote, while speaking like Venom, referring to "us".

Koopa-killa referring to those old-skool Super Mario baddies.

The numerous obvious references to Venom, both the villain and the drug that Bane uses to buff up.

MC Devlin mentions geodesic domes in both Bayou Moon Stompin (geodesic dome dweller and the hyperactive thinker) and Devlin Manor of Speech (geodesic dome upon the cinder cone) 'cause MC Kinney resides in one.

In Cross Gates Estates, the Spanish bit "7 cops around sayin' dame to dinero, y las llaves de tu Canyonero" is a reference to The Simpsons, Homer drives a Canyonero.

The Parthenon talks of the Vietnam War and the use of napalm, "the long black cloud rain down a collossal amout on lethal vegemite"

MC Devlin being "cunning linguist" in The Devlin Manor of Speech implies he may be quite proficient in using his tongue in...*ahem* cunniligus. haha

There's a reference to Arhkam Asylum in Yo, Kid!

"Materialized in Melpomene and Tchoups.." refers to streets in New Orleans.

The title of the track "Reactor 4" is a reference to the nuclear reactor that had a meltdown in Chernobyl.

There's Operation Ivy references in Marifasa Lupina (expensive vitamin pills and some wheat germ on my window sill) and Soulless Experience (My man Jesse told y'all back in '87 still peace is unseen)

Mr. Cacciatore is a reference to Billy Joel's "Anthony's Song (Moving Out)."

There's a reference to the band Symarip in Chillin' In The Columns.

Also in Chillin In The Columns is a reference to Lord of the Flies, "never kept the mind fed, with mad maggots in the swine's head, and Simon says nothin' cause the rock's still crushin," Frankenstein, "the hovel menace with the neckbolt fetish," and the Wizard of Oz, "like a witch without a parka when it's raining"

Lethal Protector mentions Louis Armstrong's "St. James Infirmary" and the Lazarus Pits from Batman lore. The title of the track is from Venom's first comic series of his own, Venom: The Lethal Protector.

"Dr. Zaius, Dr. Zaius, whats youre monkey diagnosis?" in Louisiana Truth Potion is referring to Planet of the Apes. "I hope you never argue with a crazy mind, which you oughta know by now" is also a reference to the Billy Joel song Moving Out.

A reference to Kraft Singles cheese in Tomb Diggin Shovels. 6-26-85 as stated is MC Devlin's birthday, 4-5-22-12-19 is DEVLIN alpha-numerically.

The lines in Member's Only "I'm being held under wrongful suspicion, all bundled up in the awkward posistion" is a reference to Rancid's "Wrongful Suspicion" and "Galapagos" is another one of Vonnegut's books.

In The Devlin Manor of Speech, the mentioning of Catalina may or may not be a references to the Descendents' song of the same name.

In MC Rises, "Let me be Frank, like Castle" is a reference to The Punisher, and "a signal lit like a shimmering phantom in the sky" gives the visualization of the Bat-Signal.

That's all I got, haha.

As for OP's question about The Devlin Manor of Speech, I'm assuming you mean the Spanish part? It roughly translates to: After the party, I went to take a nap, please, my wife, no more nightmares! (Since it was her dream of his statue that forced him to flee.)

I've personally been wondering about some lines in Devlin Manor of Speech as well. Specifically the Bread, butter, cheese, meat, cheese, butter, bread one. Knowing MC Devlin's ways, I suspect there's more to it than just ingredients for a sandwich, but I just can't seem to "get what he's saying through my head." hahaha
