I learned of MC a year or two back. I was riding around with my best friend toking bowls, and Bayou Moon Stompin' came up on his player.
I have to say, probably one of the best first impressions a band has had on me. The guitar at the start was what picqued my interested, and I told my friend to turn it up. As soon as it got to the refrain, I was blown away by what I heard. The sheer wit and conviction behind the lyrics, coupled with the jazzy rock, it is too perfect. I fell in love instantly.
MC has a gift. I find it such a shame that they don't get the recognition they deserve. Hell, even my parents think they have talent, and class. Just goes to show one doesn't have to be profusely profane to have ill rhymes.
Alas, the mouth breathing masses would rather have their Owl City, Kanye West, and LMFAO.
This is seriously the third time I'm typing this story. I hate weak interwebz.
When I was either a Sophomore or Junior in High School, so around Winter of '07 or '08, my friend and I went with our other friend to his college roommate's party at his apartment. He had mad MC stickers and flyers from the old MC line-up all over the walls and then I'm almost positive that for a good chunk of that night, of what i remember at least, was nothing but MC. I woke up the next day remembering nothing but being belligerent and The Mad Conductor. After that, it was like i was.. "Cot in a Wormhole" ha. ha. ha.
Last.fm, Tomb Diggin' Shovels came up on the Leftover Crack station. It deasnt make a whole lot of sense, but shoot I'll take it. Fell in love instantly.
A few friends were featured in the profile photo for them back in the myspace days. They were wearing MC shirts and posing together with the caption of " Mad conductor is for lovers" (this was during that ohio is for lovers era of the later 2000's)
From there it was just surfing youtube for their tracks until I was consciously hitting refresh and praying for new singles to come out weekly.

Like many, being a fan of No-Cash turned me onto The Mad Conductor. Ever since I heard Member's Only I was sold, and MC has been my favorite band ever since. And that's from someone who listens to a very minimal number of hip-hop bands.
I saw MC at Tompkin's Square park years ago, and heard in the crowd that it was no-cash affiliated. Years later, my cousin was playing Venom and I've been addicted to what I consider genious wordplay & production ever since.
2008, i was in high school and a friend of mine showed me feed the beast and i was immediately hooked.. i listened to that song over and over again until it became so nostalgic i couldnt listen to it anymore, then a year later i remembered it and wondered what mad conductor's other songs were like, listened to starry safari and venom etc and i was completely addicted!
I had never even heard no cash, but I was on an operation ivy forum about 7-8 years ago and a guy on there was designing the banners for mad conductor, and (only by chance) clicked on one of them, and, same story as everyone else here, got hooked.
We used to have parties with just the mad conductor when I used to live in Sydney. Then one night there was a sign at this local pub that the mad conductor were playing, which was strange, but the bar owner said they cancelled, which was a shame.
The mad conductor, in my simple opinion are of very high quality, and quality seems to be a thing rarely strived for. Thanks for that.
